The question is simple. What obligation does society, or women, have to men who are not interested in family or children? The answer, of course, is none, they're on their own. The exact same answer replies to women who don't desire marriage or children. Society has no obligation to them of any kind. They too are on their own.

IMO, the point is tha/finances, is only a small part of providing, if you are also a husband & father. Providing is physical, spiritual, emotional, psychological. Mothers take on most of this when fathers should also be responsible for it, oft while also working outside the home.

There's not always a straight line impact. When you throw a rock into a pond, there's a primary outbound wave, and then a reflection or refraction off the shoreline. Erosion isn't caused by a single wave, but by a sequence of thousands of waves. Are ethological compulsions impact every single area of our lives, not always with primary effects, often with secondary, tertiary, quaternary, or indefinite knock-on effects in a manner entirely consistent with Dawkins extended phenotype. No, I wouldn't agree that feminism started it. It would be my assertion that what's happening today is the entirely mathematically predictable outcome of technology ( basic automation all the way through artificial intelligence) and it's natural but corrupted impact on human ethological, sexually dimorphic compulsions. Men are still being men. Women are still being women. But our social evolution has entirely contaminated our evolutionary impulses, and now those impulses are resulting in some serious pathological behavior.

Cognitive ability is not special. It exists on a continuum, on a distribution curve, with human beings at the pinnacle. It is nothing more than an evolutionary adaptation to enhance our reproductive success. It is not special. But it does, at a certain level, allow us to analyze our own ethological compulsions. And even deny those ethological compulsions expression, if the expression of those compulsions is counterproductive to us as individuals, to our families, to our societies, or to our civilization. Only if we're smart enough. We are smart enough to deceive. Are we smart enough to stop deceiving, even if deception works?
