Today was a victory for Jewish education. The products of our minds - the Iron Dome and other marvels of Israeli technology - kept us safe. Whilst the culture of our enemy teaches their children to close their minds and hate - we teach our children to open their minds and think. And so, more than investing in weapons, we must continue to invest in our children’s minds - as we have done for generation after generation as the People of the Book. Inspire in your children a love of reading and writing, a love of maths, a love of science, inspire in them intellectual curiosity and creativity. Teach them the rules of knowing how to think - and then teach them the golden rule of breaking all those rules. It is the lightning of inspiration that strikes in the mind that took those rockets out of the sky last night. May we create the conditions for such lightning ever more.
