Happy to say I recently signed a contract with an influential publishing house for my manuscript on hyper-cessationism and the Reformed tradition. What did the Reformers, the Puritans, and the Westminster divines actually believe about how the Holy Spirit works among His people? The book brings together years of research from the old Scots, the Westminster Assembly, and other forgotten voices whose insights deserve to be heard again, while also directly confronting the claims of modern hyper-cessationists. I think readers will be surprised by what they are about to find in the pages of this book. There are historical discoveries and arguments that I suspect will make many readers stop in their tracks. I'm not seeking anything novel here. My hope is that the book helps recover a more biblical, confessional, and historically rooted understanding of the Holy Spirit in the everyday life of Christ's church. Materialism and knee-jerk reactions to charismania have badly deadened our view of the faith and reality. It's time for a change. More details soon.
