My top 5 Moments of the 2025 Season 1. Milano - Sanremo: A masterpiece ride by 3 Violins (Van der Poel, Pogačar, Ganna) The first place goes to the Milan–Sanremo, won by Mathieu van der Poel. What a spectacle that was a breathtaking battle between Tadej Pogačar, Van der Poel, and Filippo Ganna. It was cycling at its absolute best: pure intensity, constant attacks, and a finale for the ages. Honestly, it’s the most spectacular Sanremo finish I’ve ever seen a true celebration of the sport, a moment to remember forever. 2. Giro d’Italia, Stage 20: Simon Yates stunning turnaround In second place, Stage 20 of the Giro d’Italia, the day that decided the race. When everyone expected a duel between Isaac Del Toro and Richard Carapaz, Simon Yates emerged from nowhere. Taking advantage of the lack of cooperation between Del Toro and Carapaz, and with the help of Wout van Aert on the descent, Yates pulled off a sensational comeback to win the Giro. It was poetic years after losing a Giro to Froome in similar fashion, Yates finally reversed the story. An absolutely incredible moment. 3. Tour de France, Stage 21: The Montmartre finale Third place goes to the final stage of the Tour de France, held on the Montmartre circuit in Paris. A brilliant innovation by the race organisers a spectacular course. The atmosphere was electric, and the racing was intense. Wout van Aert’s victory, dropping Pogačar on the climb, was symbolic a redemption and a season-saving win for him. A perfect way to close the Tour. 4. Amstel Gold Race: Skjelmose’s stunning victory Fourth, the Amstel Gold Race won by Mattias Skjelmose. Pogačar attacked from far out, but this time he went too early. Thanks to a brilliant chase by Remco Evenepoel, Skjelmose managed to outsprint both Pogačar and Remco one of the most surprising and impressive wins of the year. A tactical masterclass and a huge moment for the Dane. 5. Paris–Roubaix: Another triumph for Van der Poel Finally, in fifth place, Paris–Roubaix, once again conquered by Mathieu van der Poel. It was another epic edition of the “Hell of the North” aggressive, chaotic, and thrilling from start to finish. Pogačar’s crash could have influenced the race, but Van der Poel was clearly the strongest and deserved the win.
