🚨🇫🇷🇪🇺 This is big: the French government and agencies are officially getting out of Windows & non-EU tech. Each ministry has to present their exit plan before Autumn: collaboration tools, antivirus, AI, databases.. It's starting with the Digital Ministry dropping Windows for Linux across its own infrastructure. It's the latest step from France to reduce its tech dependency as much as possible. Previously: > 80,000 French social security agents migrating to sovereign tools: Tchap, Visio, FranceTransfert. > the national health data platform moving to a European cloud solution by end of 2026. There will also be a dependency mapping across all public procurement, and a definition of what counts as a "European digital service" (which could be followed by other EU states as well) This is coming from the Prime Minister's initiative, signed off by three ministers. They call this move #GAFAMdetox

Here’s what stands out: → Set up a company in 48 hours → Cost: < €100 → Fully online, no minimum capital → One single framework across all EU countries → Easier share transfers & fundraising → EU-wide employee stock options (huge for talent) Especially the EU-wide stock option plans, taxed only when employees actually sell (instead of when granted) is huge. This makes it far easier for startups to attract and retain top talent, finally putting Europe closer to the US playbook. @ryancarson @pmarca It's not therapy. It's not navel-gazing. It's just honest self-awareness, applied in service of what you do next.

@ryancarson @pmarca Introspection has nothing to do with guilt or looking backward. It's simply curiosity about yourself. What actually drives you. What you're afraid of. What you're optimizing for without consciously choosing to.

I watched this interview, and what struck me the most was that @pmarca said he has zero interest in introspection in his life. I feel the same but have always felt bad about it. I don't have the patience or interest in any sort of introspection on the past. I don't want to talk to a therapist. I don't want to write in a journal. It was interesting to see that Marc feels the same way. Made me feel less bad about it. Great interview @davidsenra.
