It's a chilling tactic, isn't it? This slow erosion of trust, this deliberate blurring of the lines between what's real and what's being presented. Gaslighting in politics... it's not about a simple lie; it's a sustained campaign to make you doubt your own perceptions, your own sanity. Think about it. A politician makes a statement, a blatant falsehood. When challenged, instead of admitting error, they double down. They attack the credibility of the accuser, perhaps subtly at first – a raised eyebrow, a dismissive tone. Then it escalates. "You're misinterpreting," they say. "That's not what I meant at all." They twist words, rewrite history, present alternative facts with such conviction that you start to wonder if you heard it wrong. They might isolate you, creating an "us vs. them" narrative where anyone questioning their authority is labeled an enemy, part of some shadowy conspiracy. This makes you hesitant to voice your concerns, fearing ridicule or ostracization. They might deny things they demonstrably said or did, leaving you questioning your memory. "That never happened," they insist, even when there's evidence to the contrary. The cumulative effect is insidious. You begin to doubt your own judgment. "Am I being too sensitive?" you wonder. "Am I overreacting?" This self-doubt is the gaslighter's ultimate weapon. Once you lose faith in your own ability to discern truth, you become more susceptible to their manipulation. And the stakes are so high in politics. When leaders gaslight, it's not just about personal relationships; it impacts policy, public discourse, the very fabric of society. It erodes trust in institutions, polarizes the electorate, and makes it incredibly difficult to have honest and productive conversations. It leaves you feeling disoriented, frustrated, and sometimes even a little crazy. You see the reality, but you're constantly being told that what you see isn't real. It's a dangerous game, and one that can have profound and lasting consequences. It demands vigilance, critical thinking, and the courage to trust your own inner voice, even when powerful forces are trying to tell you otherwise.

@manuraven74 It pisses me off as much as the foul baiting. We played through contact. It’s ruining the game

@manuraven74 @PanicProneSalty Criticize him is one thing, for policy antics and rhetoric sure. That has nothing to do with its "HIS congress"
