Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto & PPP have always supported Balochistan. It was under Bhutto’s leadership that Balochistan was granted full provincial status & the nationalist party NAP was encouraged to form provincial governments in Balochistan & the then NWFP in 1972. However, history also records that during the early 1970s, nationalist leadership contributed to instability in Balochistan, including the expulsion of teachers & professionals on ethnic grounds, which adversely affected governance and law and order. When Benazir Bhutto assumed power in 1988, she upheld democratic norms by allowing a BNA-led provincial government to take office in Balochistan. Similarly, during its tenure 2008, PPP took major constitutional & fiscal steps to address long-standing grievances of smaller provinces. The landmark 18th Amendment ensured greater provincial autonomy, while the 7th NFC Award enhanced financial resource distribution. Additionally, the Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan Package was launched to address the political, economic, & administrative concerns of the province. At the same time, it is deeply concerning that certain elements, while residing in foreign countries, continue to glorify violence & promote militant narratives. Such actions only serve to misguide & radicalize Baloch youth, ultimately harming the social fabric & future of Baloch. Balochistan’s future lies within Pakistan. Its legitimate grievances are being addressed with seriousness & commitment. The way forward is rooted in renouncing violence, adherence to the Constitution, & then constructive dialogue for stability and inclusive development in Balochistan.

خیبر میں پی ٹی ایم جرگہ کے کیمپ پر پولیس کا دھاوا قابل مذمت ہے۔ پختونخوا میں پرامن سیاسی سرگرمیوں کو روکنے میں پی ٹی آئی کی صوبائی حکومت اب بھی سیکیورٹی اسٹیٹ کے ساتھ ایک ہی صفحے پر ہے۔ جمرود میں برکت آفریدی کے گھر پر پولیس کے چھاپے اور انکے بیٹے کے اغوا کی بھی مذمت کرتے ہیں۔

Police opened fire on protesters. Many were injured, including women and children. Several protesters were also arrested.
