There is this Nigerian from a different region I know over here. We greet and chat anytime we see. Play pool billiards together. You know how it is abroad, we are seemingly united as Nigerians. Yesterday, he didn’t know I was around the corner while he is on the phone with someone I assume from the same region as he was speaking his native language. I could understand his language, although he doesn’t know that. I overheard him talking to the person on the phone that the way “Ibos” are going with development, it is a threat to Nigeria. He wished that Southeast will be destroyed again so that we will start afresh to rebuild and they’ll be miles ahead. I don’t want to say other things I heard him say about Ndi Igbo, before I tapped him on the shoulder. I pretended like I didn’t understand anything he was saying. Where I lost it was when told the person on the phone, right in front of me, that one of the “idiots” (translated) just entered there and that he’ll call him later. I confronted him immediately in a very harsh tone and asked him: “who is the idiot that entered here”. I could see the shock in his face. I told him “if this is the way you see me and think of my people, I don’t want to have anything to do with you anymore”. Other African guys there didn’t understand how the issue escalated so quickly. I left the place immediately, blocked and deleted his number. So, even with his exposure and living in this country for over 15 years, people still think like this? I wouldn’t want to share his region. I think he is one X and will eventually see this post.

EndSARS started when Yahoo boys got tired of settling policemen in the SouthSouth. Even their girlfriends came out to protest. Then the protest was moved to Lagos. Yahoo boys heavily sponsored the protest. Governor Sanwo-olu came, took their request to Abuja and got their 5 for 5 request approved. Immediately he came back, they change it from EndSARS to EndBadGovt. That was when people realized the protest wasn't about SARS anymore.

DAY 4. UNTITLED. 📍: EDINBURGH, ENUGU🇳🇬 MAY, 2024. I was coming back from Ogbete Market, Enugu. My pocket wasn't looking healthy with the type of transportation i wanted to board home. As a broke Nigerian boy, I decided to do "THE TREKS". I said I'll trek from Holyghost to Edinburgh Bus-stop to make my fare, fair and acceptable by the Tuk-Tuk drivers. While I was demurely doing my "TREKS" to the Bus-stop. I saw this old man with a briefcase and a walking stick heading towards the Ziks Avenue way. He looked like someone that knows everything about this life. My hands itched😂 I said "Noooo, my gee you're getting photographed! This white beards, papas cap, walking stick, wearied visible veins and brief case spoke to me. I'm not letting this slide" I ran past him, sat at the Edinburgh Bus-stop and waited for him to approach so that I can photograph history. He got closer, I took my shot and danced home.
