We’ve had a lovely Book Club today looking at some classic fairy tales brought in by these children. 📚❤️#greatsankeyreading

We’ve listened to all the election speeches from the children in Year 5 who have put themselves forward as candidates to be next year’s House Captains. Then we placed our votes in the ballot box. We can’t wait to hear the results this afternoon. #greatsankeypshe

Today we were learning all about evergreen and deciduous trees and identifying some of the trees in our school grounds! #greatsankeyscience

We completed ‘Dance for Diabetes!’ It was a brilliant atmosphere on the school field and everyone danced their hearts out! We then did some yoga to relax afterwards. Don’t forget to return your sponsorship forms by the end of the week. #greatsankeysports

The girls had some pomegranate left after making their jellies so they shared it with their friends and had a pomegranate picnic!!!! 😀❤️

Last week it was pizza, this week it is cake! The only way to really recognise 1/4 in maths. Mrs Griggs timed her visit perfectly and helped us work out what 3/4 looked like! #greatsankeymaths

In science we investigated the role of stems to see if we could create some colourful flowers, mixing food colouring with the water. We can’t wait to see what happens! #greatsankeyscience

This afternoon we have designed brand new fruit-based products in our DT lesson. We had to think about the fruit and the flavour of the jelly in our fruit jellies, the name of the product and the label. We need people to want to try it! 😋 #greatsankeydt

In Book Club today, we’ve been looking at books all about food- some were non-fiction and some were fiction. Thanks goes to these two girls for bringing in two books from home for us to look at too…… #greatsankeyreading

As part of DT, we need to practise peeling and slicing fruit and vegetables. We tried with apples this morning- some of us had never done it before. #greatsankeydt 🍎🔪

Today in tennis we were practising ball control and how to hold the racquet with the V hold. We also played a great game of raccquets V balls! #greatsankeysports

We had fun in French playing our vocab hunting game to help us learn key phrases from our ’Boucles d’Or et les Trois Ours’ story! #greatsankeyfrench

Today we became little gardeners in science and planted sunflower, radish, mustard and cress seeds. We are going to observe them over the next 4 weeks and see if they turn into seedlings! We learnt they need air, sunlight and water. #greatsankeyscience

What an exciting start to our week, we had a workshop with Curtis Jobling - the famous author and illustrator and past pupil of GSP! We loved listening to Raa Raa the Noisy Lion and Bob the Builder and especially learning how to draw some of his characters. #greatsankeyenglish
