A former Ubisoft developer has admitted that the studio is now “hated by a large part of the public” and that it is “far from impossible” for Ubisoft to make great games again. “Ubisoft is now hated by a large part of the public for a decade of disappointing releases, hated by many of its own developers for years of mismanagement, and hated by the market for its poor editorial and financial planning.”

@Jok3rR6 Even the local Ubisoft started to turn away from them. Even though I warned them many times, they didn‘t listen to me at all. This scene is no longer promising.

The Korean esports scene is genuinely just crazy. We went from having 8 teams in KR league in 2024 to now having 2 teams, that aren’t close to being competitive at the top level… There are so many reasons for it, but it’s sad to see… but no T2 for years doesn’t help

Game companies/tourney orgs must impose APAC roster limits suited to perf gaps & regions. T2 alone cant fix it; locals need real chances before mercenary era sets in.

They clearly don’t get the problem. The barely surviving 2nd division is now completely ruined. Considering more support only now is far too late—local players have long been shut out of pro scenes and are highly likely to leak to other titles.

Ubisoft Paris workers have threatened a walkout if CEO Yves Guillemot visits the studio reportedly planned around early February 2026. "He is not welcome as long as he continues to mistreat his employees." Employees are urged to stop work, leave desks, and gather outside if he shows up.
