I don’t understand all these multi-layered theories about whether Ukraine should hand over the Donbas to Russia, whether it should keep fighting, or whether it would be better to accept Putin’s terms now or later. What makes you think Ukraine actually has a real choice? Who told you that ‘agreeing to Putin’s terms’ = getting a ‘long-term and stable peace’ -- even at the cost of colossal humiliation and unfair, absurd concessions forced on Ukraine under pressure from the Kremlin’s useful idiots in the White House? What makes you think that after Ukraine theoretically gives up its last strongholds in the Donbas, massively weakens its defenses and armed forces, abandons Western military aid and long-range weapons, and is left with fake ‘security guarantees’ that no Western country would ever go to war over -- Putin will simply stop, leave Ukraine alone forever, and not once again invent some arbitrary propaganda pretext, rebuild his strength, and launch a new offensive from a far more favorable position to finish off Ukraine completely? What makes you think this latest fuss is a path to real peace and an end to the war, rather than a political way to achieve through Trump what Russia hasn’t been able to accomplish against Ukraine on the battlefield for four years? Who even told you this would be ‘peace’? Putin? Witkoff? Trump? Kirill Dmitriev? Come back down to earth. If only thing were that simple -- that you hand over the battered Donbas, freeze the front line, promise not to join NATO, which is half-dead anyway, and voilà, everything is settled and you get peace and calm.

@Spothe I realize it is cheaper to tear down & rebuild but such a waste that we don't do the cheapest option which is maintain the buildings we already built. We have become such a throw away society.

@AJamesMcCarthy My father and I would watch the original Cosmos with Carl Sagan back in 1980, and then venture out in our back yard with his Sears telescope in east Mesa, AZ. I also saw Saturn AND Jupiter through that "cheap" telescope. It was magical...

View through my 17" telescope just a moment ago: Saturn low on the horizon, so not quite sharp yet. See that dark spot on the limb at the bottom? That's Titan! It's just started to transit... it won't do this again until the 2040's. If you have a telescope, now is the time!

She's currently at the vet --this was a scheduled awhile ago. She can use all of the good vibes, prayers, whatever works for you. Vet does think she'll be able to come home today. Paws crossed but the last row days have been a challenge. We will do everything possible for her. 💚

@MissyBBBobtail P.s. mine also does that where they turn their head sideways appearing to have trouble chewing, when they are just eating pate. Any idea why?

The biggest issue was she hasn't been eating. For Missy that's a huge red flag. She got new food from vet and ..... Still waiting for some test results but this is a good sign. Vet does NOT think this is related to her lymphoma

@OneNerdyOpinion That actually makes it easier if she prefers inside. I take mine outside to explore the yard with a harness/leash and he gets so mad at me when I tell him it is time to come inside. He has Catitude!

Dandy made a brief expedition into the hallway outside of her apartment today while I was getting Spike ready to go potty. She was not a fan. She howled her displeasure for the entire 7 seconds she was on the wrong side of the door.
