So apparently @MaraudersNFT got exposed by no other than @KratuSinners members pointing out its fully AI made, then @MaraudersNFT announced "its a social experiment". fun never ends on solana 🤣 (PS:they did refund tho)

Yesterday @MaraudersNFT was caught for using AI art for their collection In response to getting caught, the founder of Marauders dropped an announcement that called it a "social experiment" and refunded all pre-sale funds Whether their claim of a "social experiment" is true, this does shed light on some major issues in the space right now 1. The dangers of pre-sale - Pre-sales can be a great way for a project to earn starting capital for their ventures prior to mint, but too many times has this been taken advantage of. There is no liability for a project to mint once they receive pre-sale funds and no protections for the investor if the project decides not to mint. In this case, it was an honorable gesture to return pre-sale funds, but he could've easily just dipped with 65 Sol 2. Repeating the same thing and expecting different results - This is the same old song and dance that we've seen time and time again. Projects pushing low effort art and investors piling in with the expectation of some hypothetical return. The reason why so many rugs exist in this space is because we allow it. At a certain point, you can't blame projects for attempting to take advantage, when so many people are willing to shell out money with so little protection and research. Conclusion: If we want this space to be taken seriously, we need to develop a solution that keeps projects liable for their actions and protects the investor when they aren't willing to protect themselves.
