Yeah I get that. Its for the experience. They basically teaching owners intrested in Horse Racing to basically grow the fuck up stop giving us your money and do it on your own experience

Its crazy to have a 200k safety net then expect people to pay for training fees as a 3 year old season. These trainers West Point use probably have some deal as well. 5500 month x 12 = 66k Lets say 15k worth of extras Thats 20k window 100k in someones bank

Even with bloodstock and management fees and training fees . 268k markup is absurd 11.5 - bloodstock fee (5 %) 26k - management fee (10%) Thats 37.5k . That leaves 231k markup left There is zero shot Westpoint is paying the Trainers a years worth of training feed so they probably put 100k of it bank and let it grow intrest. 5k a month to train horse + bills

@GhostofSwiftH As long as people keep buying shares the price is going to go higher and higher. Probably the best way to stay in the business, almost no downside to the transaction. If the horse turns out to be a monster and the shareholders have no rights to breeding it is a win win for them

@Top100Rick I understand what Gil and you are saying but when courses were built in the 20s and 30s they were often built in open fields with no trees to save cost. I get the agronomy part but so many courses have been ruined imo by all the tree removal

I think trees are beautiful and should remain when possible and natural. But when they intrude on the golf course turf in bad ways or ruin the original intent of the golf course, then they should be taken down. Oregon forest courses should have lots of trees, for example. That’s the place.

I used to get mad about Derby winners skipping Preakness. That it was bad for the sport. But the people who own the Preakness don’t give a flying fuck about horse racing so I’ve changed my tune. Owners and connections should do what’s best for the horse
