I started on a new team at Microsoft working on Viva Amplify & SharePoint News. Watch my short overview to learn more about Amplify. If you have questions or feedback about either, let me know, I'm trying to learn from customers and users as fast as I can!
@Steve_C_Brown We are finishing up work to have Amplify in GCC, but not sure when it'll be available as we are part of the Viva C&C license which includes Engage, and I don't think they are ready yet for GCC.
hi @MarcMroz what's the best way to share a playlist of videos with a microsoft team that they can access easily?
i've created a microsoft list (sharepoint list) playlist of videos. I've done this inside of a team/ sharepoint group. no one can see the videos
@TheBebsMLC Are the videos uploaded to the same team/group library? Or are they in ODB and other sites/teams. Playlists just link to the videos, you have to set permissions on the videos so users have access. I wish playlists did more auto permission magic but they don’t.
Trim for videos in SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams via Microsoft Stream is now 100% rolled out for WW tenants (GCC coming soon). support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/h…
This is the top requested feature on our ideas forum! aka.ms/StreamIdeas
@MarcMroz@mtholfsen@hoyty@MicrosoftStream How’s that clip trim in Stream coming along? Because that first five minutes of the autorecorded Teams meeting could really use a cut. ✂️
@Y_enitan Push the support person to get a response from the engineer team. If you have a MS account person assigned to your organization, they can help push the case. I don’t know off hand if the migration team is still technically able to open it back up temporarily or not.
@MarcMroz I have put in support tickets but I do not think this was escalated properly as I didn’t get a favorable response. This was a day after the official retirement. Any suggestions ?
Hi @MarcMroz; In respect to classic stream migration, my organization missed the migration window, is there another way we are able to migrate all user contents? Does MS have plans to re-open this? Thanks
@KinetikNews With the M365 Copilot license you get tons of AI capabilities across many things in M365, not just videos in Stream. This feature for videos is just one feature in a suite of Copilot capabilities.
Adoption will be near zero, a license fee for near zero added value.
Very few organizations are going to put money on this unless their whole work evolve around videos.
Beside if you have the transcript you can do it for FREE just take the transcript to any free AI tool it can give you a summary also ...
🤖▶️ Copilot in Microsoft Stream has rolled out to 100% of WW! Try it with the Copilot license on any video uploaded to SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, or Viva Engage with a transcript.

@theatretwitt The OneDrive mobile app has the mobile Stream player inside it. So at least for me, I see playback speed available on videos I open in the OD app on iOS, even when playing a video offline. Do you have that in your version yet?
@MarcMroz Ok, so that's offline function.
OneDrive client lacks playback controls like speed of playback.
A very convoluted path to get to content and too much other content getting in the way of what I need.
So I just saw the end of life notice for the @MicrosoftStream app. The experience through OneDrive or Microsoft 365 apps to get to video is nowhere near streamlined enough for a video portal.
@theatretwitt Have you tried using the OneDrive mobile app? You can access your OneDrive and sites/teams libraries. For a video file you can mark it as “Make available offline” which keeps it just in the OneDrive app for playback when you don’t have internet.
@MarcMroz Copyright is important to the rights holders. We hold content that is restricted to ensuring the works can be recreated. It's important this content isn't removed and misused ornused outside of the rights we have it under.
The loss of offline functionality is also disappointing. We want offline but not download.
Any thoughts on how we solve these user experience changes / issues?
@MarcMroz
@DarrellaaS@MicrosoftStream So ultimately you are looking for easier portability of videos and extra metadata across tenants. Where you make a video and provide it to multiple customers to be played in M365 in Stream. Makes sense.
@SoniaCuff@donasarkar 1. Upload the video to anywhere in M365. 2. Click to open it in online in the web, which opens it in the Stream player. 3. Click video settings 4. Open the transcript section, click generate or in many cases it’s already generating.
Friends, does anyone have a good hack to get a transcript from a video that’s about 10 mins long and on a private share?
I would think one of the AI things would do this but no luck yet!
It’s to make a tutorial for #MSBuild!
