On this day in 1950, @TheVinScully called his first @Dodgers game.
He continued calling games for the Dodgers for a record-setting 67 years, longer than any broadcaster with a single team in professional sports history.
Vin passed away in August 2022.
His legacy lives on.

@kapn_krude @Super70sSports I have an old NASL program (original Seattle Sounders team) that has a story about how hard Stallone had to train for the film

@Super70sSports One of Stallone's better movies that never gets any props

@Super70sSports It should not be called the Rock n' Roll HOF.
It should be the Music Hall of Fame.
Rock n' Roll is a type of music, like jazz, the blues or reggae. Having artists like Aretha Franklin, Madonna, and Johnny Cash is kind of a disservice to actual RnR artists

@BtterflyDragon @Super70sSports By all rights, he should be resting in peace there, too.

@Super70sSports Washington produced Ryne Sandberg (RIP), Fred Couples, and the first American to climb Mt. Everest, Jim Whitaker (RIP). John Elway was born here, too.

Super Sky Point to Phil Garner, a 70s legend I’ve tweeted about so many times through the years. This one stings because I was blessed to meet him last summer and he was as nice and cool as could be. Farewell, Scrap Iron, and tell Pops and the Cobra hi from all of us. #RIP

Enjoyed my chat with Phil Garner! The 3x All-Star fondly remembers Dave Parker and opens up on Willie Stargell’s titanic Olympic Stadium homer, Kent Tekulve’s unique physique, what made the 1979 Pirates a fam-a-lee, his legendary mustache, and lots more:
