I’ve been considering lately why “Bible-believing” rather than “Jesus following” seems to be the descriptor of choice for evangelical churches. I trust the Bible because I trust Jesus, not vice versa. If we are going to appeal to authority, shouldn’t it be to the highest?

My followers know I have had plenty of criticisms of President Trump. Relentless, frankly. But anyone who loves America, and who knows how evil Russia and Putin are, ought to recognize that this is objectively... terrific.

Local groups and orgs typically lead the immediate relief efforts; the feds support with $$ and additional resources but are rarely the first to respond (again, for obvious reasons) 8. FEMA & local groups are shipping in food and supplies via truck, plane, and even freaking mules! 9. FEMA search and rescue teams are on the ground and have been for days 10. This website is full of people lying about 1-9.

@grcastleberry Don’t worry, 8 out of ten of them are voting for Trump. I do wonder what happened to the Christian worldview, which insisted that character in leaders was of paramount importance and that was suspicious of overtly political approaches to the church’s mission.

Whatever happened to the Christian worldview, which values the life of the unborn, the sanctity of marriage and the family, and the freedom of nations to protect their own borders? The evangelical mind has become the secular, progressive mind.

Americans should thank God that the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump was ended without violence. This is a sobering moment for Americans. No society can survive a descent into political violence. This is a point that should be affirmed by all-now.

@profsamperry The book “Rapture Ready” released in 2007(?) makes the case that it is more of a pop culture sub group. It’s a very insightful outside perspective of what evangelicalism is.
