Spain’s healthcare system is ranked 26th in the world, while the U.S. ranks a lowly 69th. The United States spends nearly a trillion dollars on defense, yet many Americans can’t even afford to call an ambulance. I think Spain is doing pretty well.

Nice deflection! But much of that is false of course, and much of it is simply about a different culture. And the economy is not “home administration”, regardless of what old Greek words mean. The U.S. of course has much more advanced healthcare system, one that creates medicines, medical innovations and solutions that the rest of the world benefits from. Most people in the U.S. have insurances that cover healthcare, but I do think the U.S. could learn from European countries, like the Scandinavian nations regarding healthcare. The U.S. is spending about as much on healthcare and education per capita as the Scandinavian countries, but they can offer these services for “free”, while the U.S. does not. And regarding crime, in the U.S. there is one particular demographic, only 13% of the population, that is responsible for 50-55% of all murders and much of violent crime. Only 0.3% of the Spanish population belong to that demographic.

@Right_Rationale @GabeZZOZZ You do know that economy comes from the Greek oikos (home) + nomos (administration)? If Spain enjois longer, healthier lives, more paid holidays, better health system, less crime, free education, lower suicide rates, and so on… whose home has better administration?

In literacy the countries are about the same(both at 99%). In higher education, the U.S. leads. In drug abuse, it depends on how you measure it, Spain has higher cannabis use, the U.S. has had more overdose deaths(although those rates are collapsing under Trump, falling more than 20% last year).
