@MarcusXCymru @Mgwaith Big one for me is (obviously) the Vale of Clwyd line connecting Prestatyn and Rhyl to Bodelwyddan (where the hospital is), through to St Asaph via the business park, on to Denbigh and Ruthin (where the council hq is)

All this ties into that map of land over 300m and the development of cities. Of course if you think Wales is a bit of Britain with London as the centre, you think there's no point building stuff here, there's no population. HS2 is a perfect example. But this isn't nature forcing

It's kinda ridiculous that Aberystwyth is isolated from the north and the south of Wales. It's one of the major cultural hubs of Wales and it's only rail connection is eastward (like most of Wales)

@Jayfuz Don't remember it being a problem when there were tolls on the bridges. Before the English flooded across them to buy cheap houses in dormitory towns. Because Bristol is really dear. There's a pretty obvious solution imo.

@ClwydEnComu @Mgwaith People always get excited about the Aber line, which was only ever single line working and passed through the most desolate parts. The Cambrian line from Dre Newydd to Merthyr is a much better candidate as it connects significant populations. Plus there's an hourly bus to Aber.

@Mgwaith The argument would have some weight if we hadn’t connected the country somewhat by rail before

@JamesEvansMS Good to see you speak of constructive opposition. Pity some of your colleagues are more content spending their time taking photos in the Senedd toilets with their new cameras than pursuing a similar approach.

Had a great time at Hay Festival yesterday discussing the recent Senedd election and what comes next for Wales. As Reform UK’s Shadow Cabinet Minister for Health, Prevention and Sport, I’ll be playing my part in ensuring we are a constructive opposition, while also using the Senedd’s scrutiny process properly to hold the new Plaid Cymru Welsh Government to account for the promises they made to people across Wales. The election is over, now the real work of delivery and accountability begins.

Cross Ross imagines that the cost of adding 36 seats to the Senedd would pay for Health, Education and Social Services in Cymru. Wonder if he would be interested in buying some of my Welsh goldmine shares? Strictly cash only. #CrossRoss
Plaid Cymru Exposed 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿@PlaidExposed

Plaid Cymru had a choice. Either they wanted more politicians in Cardiff Bay, or they wanted to fix the Welsh NHS. Given that the Senedd has been expanded by over 50%, what do you think they chose? Your priorities aren’t the same as theirs.

@AnnBremenda It's desperately sad to see youngsters denied the chance to make a success of their lives. One thing which stands out to me in Cymru is that youngsters can leave school end of June they turn 16 and have no additional education at all, further or higher. Only in Cymru. Seems wrong

Successive governments have failed to provide our young people with the support and opportunities they deserve. Young people shouldn't feel destined to be a ‘lost generation’ – they deserve to be empowered and enabled to thrive. theguardian.com/business/2026/…

Opposition politicians must hold those in power to account. Amusingly, I’m getting some criticism for scrutinising the new Plaid Cymru separatist administration. I won’t stop. We don’t need 36 more Senedd members. Fewer politicians putting in a proper shift would work just fine.
