I’m puzzled as to why so many MPs refuse to listen to this man on assisted dying. He’s an expert. He sees the danger. Yet they wilfully turn a blind eye in support of a horribly flawed bill. And they wonder why they are held in such low esteem 🙄

Astounding & inhumane that this should be considered. And yet campaigners in this country dismiss the “slippery slope”. Mental health patients who seek AD are same people psychiatrists aim to treat, offer hope & bring back from the brink.

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. After her Private Members’ Bill to enact Assisted Dying fell in the House of Lords, the ever-enthusiastic Kim Leadbeater is now gearing up for another push. In a letter to colleagues, the Honourable Member for Batley has begged fellow MPs to offer their support for her legislation by entering the forthcoming Private Members’ Bill ballot on Thursday. If their number gets called then they can choose to back Leadbeater’s initiative. Talk about the ironies of Leadbeater appealing for her Bill to be given life support…. Leadbeater writes that the ballot is the best ‘simplest way’ for parliament to ‘complete consideration of the legislation’. She tells MPs that: ✍️ Steerpike Article | spectator.com/article/kim-le…

Euthanasia for the mentally ill has been one of the most contentious aspects of the Trudeau government’s legacy. Though the entire assisted suicide program is frighteningly dystopian, the idea of euthanizing mentally vulnerable people is in a class of its own. Now, in a rare moment of lucidity, the Carney government may be preparing to halt the expansion – or so the Globe and Mail reported, citing unnamed sources within the government. ✍️ Jane Stannus Article | spectator.com/article/will-c…"

@spucprolife A generation ago most women did not work when they started a family - being a mom was a job in itself - and men’s salaries were enough to support them both . My sister now nearly 80yrs old had to give up work when she started a family. Only poor women had to work.

Teachers can't believe what they're seeing 😲 A generation ago, no one imagined teachers would be doing the jobs parents used to do - feeding children, toilet-training them, filling the gaps left at home. Somehow, this has become normal. How did we get here? Find out in this week's Viewpoint 👉 youtu.be/rFA5dHQvcjw

@EoLWatch The Express receives money from Dignity and Dying - so this is propaganda not authentic reporting but biased and paid for .

We wish DID would "finish what they started"... as in cease to exist. Their pernicious, manipulative propaganda has been ethically and morally corrosive. It has presented a deeply distorted picture of terminal illness to the public, encouraged the sick and disabled to see their lives as pointless and burdensome, and poisoned public discourse around end-of-life care. It's time for them to stop. The good British public have wisened to their utilitarian, cost-cutting, eugenicist agenda and want rid of them.
Dignity in Dying@dignityindying

Ahead of the King’s Speech today, @Daily_Express shared heartbreaking end-of-life stories from their readers to show why MPs must “finish what they started” and legalise assisted dying. MPs have already voted for compassion. It's time to back the assisted dying bill again.

@JasonD60 The AS bill the Commons voted for no longer includes a high court judge, this crucial change nullifies the vote. Over 50% of the population belong to religions that are against assisted dying therefore it’s not democratic. Read this grim report theconversation.com/maid-and-margi…

And so, Parliament Act. Which, far from being "drastic" as some claim, is a cornerstone of democratic principles over unelected chambers. Indeed in Ireland, the upper house would have been obliged to complete their scrutiny in one session.

2️⃣ Identical bill requirement The Parliament Act requires the second version of the bill to be identical to the one the Commons passed last session. But what exceptions, if any, are there to this rule?

"If they still won’t budge, then it is essential that the Government steps in by invoking the Parliament Act – a seldom-used measure designed to prevent just such undemocratic blocking – to ensure this bill can be seen through to its proper conclusion." radiotimes.com/tv/current-aff…

@JohnCleese @nwo_to Harriet Harman worked for the National Council for Civil Liberties as a legal officer from 1978 to 1982. During this period, the NCCL had affiliated the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE), a group that campaigned for the decriminalization of child sexual abuse.

Exactly ! If they wanted to help with pain they could reduce it to a 6 week prognosis more accurate than 6months- but no this really about saving NHS money - euthanasia would follow too.
