Sports in Kansas 5A 🥎 Player of the Year: Jaleigh White of Spring Hill. White, a junior, had one of the best years in Kansas. White helped Spring Hill (28-3) to a third place finish this season in 5A by hitting .533 at the plate with 57 hits, 16 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs and 61 RBI in the loaded 5A classification. And she wasn't just a great hitter, she was equally as dominant in the circle as she had a 15-2 record (0.86 ERA) with 121 strikeouts in 106.1 innings pitched. White was one of three players in 5A named to the Top 9 all-classes team, along with Cambell Riordan (IF) of Bishop Carroll and Keira Stripling (Util/P) of Bishop Carroll who finished second and third in the 5A POY voting after winning the 5A state title. Pitcher of the Year in the 5A class went to Sophie Stockham who just missed out on the Top 9 all-classes team, finishing in a tie for fourth in the POY voting with White's teammate Marisa January of Spring Hill (.412/12HR/35 RBI). #sportsinkansas
