@Maria1986Anna After teaching the content I had them in the two lines, person at the front is pre-synaptic & the end is post-synaptic. They randomly picked up some green / red paper balls to represent NTs and had to pass the "transmission" down the line, deciding at the end the summation

Got creative teaching year 12 about synaptic transmission. They left on a buzz and said how much they enjoy the content! Will take it as a win 💪🏼

Just re-drafted my forgetting curve graphic to try to show that when done well, retrieval grows the top line- ie students aren't just preserving what they learned initially but growing/expanding it. (Also kind of a window into what nerdy people like me do for fun)

There can be confusion about being “evidence-informed”. This diagram shows the importance of evidence from research alongside teacher expertise, experience & context - not dismissing it. I certainly embrace being an evidence-informed teacher & leader as do many others I know!
