@KipHottman I have heard this from so. many. teachers, @KipHottman. I would say as a parent, it's a lot to manage for me, fairly easy for my kids, and definitely A LOT of work for teachers.

Q2: Both groups are a bit overwhelmed. My middle schoolers in the Spring had to navigate 7 classes. My shift in pedagogy has me up at 3 am most days. Tough now; but better everyday! #BetterTogetherinMA

A1: During this first month back to school, I have felt most successful as an educator when my students gave me feedback on my new best practices. We’ve found a way to collaborate, engage, learn virtually & have created a solid virtual learning environment. #BetterTogetherinMA

Coming soon: a slow chat version of tonight's #Commit2ART chat. We are looking forward to hearing more about what teachers need. @TheTeacherCoLab is here to support.

@TheTeacherCoLab A5A: I'm going to shout out @FHNewEngland again. Checklist is awesome: facinghistory.org/educator-resou… and on-demand webinars: facinghistory.org/professional-d… #Commit2ART

Random and doesn't necessarily belong to a question, but I am listening to Nice White Parents podcast @serial. Could make a great discussion piece for white parents involved in parent councils #commit2art

A4: shared language would be helpful in building community across teachers re: how we talk about race and racism amongst teachers, students, families, etc. #commit2art

A2A: @FHNewEngland shared a checklist that is useful for planning how to introduce topics in a classroom facinghistory.org/educator-resou… #commit2art

A2A: My town (including the middle school) is reading Waking Up White as a community read. I haven't started it yet, though. #commit2art

"Rooted in love" - that is so awesome and relatable for so many teachers. #Commit2ART

A1B: I want to be an antiracist teacher because I am rooted in love, I’m passionate about teaching all my learners and love openly discussing social justice w/them and inspiring them to be the change. #Commit2Art

Such a good point. I hear this a lot and feel like this is true often: people mean well. What have been your go-to resources for learning more, if you wouldn't mind sharing?
Dan Adler@MisterSci
A1B: Because it's not enough to mean well, or think you're doing well. If I'm serious about supporting all my learners, I need to think about my biases, my privilege, and listen to other stories and experiences. #Commit2ART

@TheTeacherCoLab For me, I was interested in the concept of doing actively anti-racist actions, as opposed to just "being" anti-racist. That changed how I think about what I should be doing/learning on an ongoing basis. #Commit2ART

@RonNobleJr I'm over here sweating as I frantically toggle between accounts, lol. Hope you're well!

Thank you all for sharing. So impressed by how MA teachers are responding and re-imagining to make students feel seen, safe, and successful. #RemoteLearningMA
