We know the solutions: stronger background checks, extreme risk protection orders, accountability for the gun industry, and more. What stands in the way is not a lack of answers, but political obstruction. Every day of inaction costs lives. It’s long past time for leaders of every party to choose people over politics and act.

Dr. Dobson was hugely influential in my family growing up. I’ll never forget the shame I felt as I read and re-read the chapter tucked away at the end of “Preparing for Adolescence” about homosexuality and how unnatural and broken we are. May Focus on the Family crumble. Amen.

@Sparkytheboi @Angelica_Reed1 @JayJurden I actually am a combo of Calabrian, Spanish, NA/ME, + ~ 10% Brit, but even the 100% Calabrian members of the extended fam get mistaken for my actual heritage most of the time. Once there’s jet black hair + a tan, the JD Vance Whites stop being able to differentiate continents.

@Angelica_Reed1 @JayJurden He’s cool with the Northern Italians. (Blonde, blue eyes, pale skin). It’s when he gets to those of us with Calabrian heritage (basically the bottom of Italy) that we become ~ethnic~. We tend to be misread as Spanish or Middle Eastern, but those are def worse in his book.
