Firefighter loses job for saving dog. The fire was ruled too dangerous, no one allowed inside. But when a man cried out for his dog, one firefighter couldn’t walk away. He pushed through the smoke, found the dog hiding under a table, and carried it out as the house caved in. The crowd cheered, the owner wept, but his chief was furious. Later he sat alone, knowing disobeying an order cost him his job, but none of that mattered, all that mattered was saving the dog’s life.

FDNY Firefighter Patrick Brady, 42, died battling a blaze in Brooklyn on Saturday, November 8, 2025. An 11-year veteran, Patrick comes from a family of firefighters that included two brothers, a cousin and an uncle. May God rest his soul and bring comfort to his loved ones.
