It is up to ordinary citizens in the West to do all we can to stop one of history’s great crimes. Italian workers have shown all of us how it can be done.

Parliament in a nutshell: Yesterday MPs, including Yvette Cooper, celebrated the suffragette legacy of civil disobedience that won women the right to vote.. Only to then vote to designate non-violent direct action group Palestine Action as terrorists. Westminster is broken.

▶️Nearly 8.8 million people in the UK spent this winter exposed to the adverse health effects of damp and mould in cold homes they cannot afford to heat. ▶️Cold homes can both cause and worsen respiratory conditions, with children in cold homes twice as likely to develop respiratory illnesses. ▶️They can also cause and worsen cardiovascular diseases, poor mental health, dementia and hypothermia (Institute of Health Equity & IHE/Friends of the Earth) as well as cause and slow recovery from injury (PHE). ▶️The RCGP has recently co-signed a letter to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care calling on the Government to affirm its election promise by providing at least £13.2 billion towards the Warm Homes Plan in the upcoming Comprehensive Spending Review.

We demanded action on insulation today at Whitehall! Health workers, renters, and campaigners from across the UK came together at the Department of Health and Social Care to tell Health Secretary @wesstreeting to support the Warm Homes Plan, handing in an open letter.

Me again talking about rent controls. They’re really not a wildly radical idea, they make economic / social sense & cost govt nothing. Wins all round!
Pod Save the UK@podsavetheuk

Ever heard the argument that rent controls would make things worse for renters? Urban sociologist and researcher for @NEF Homes for Us Alliance @abioconnor_ busts some of the common myths and misconceptions. New PSUK out now. #UK #Trending #RentControls #CostOfLiving

💪Winter fuel payment campaign VICTORY!💪 This wouldn't have happened without huge pressure from the grass roots This win shows the power we have together. But there's further to go. Means testing➡️cliff edges. Everyone should have access to the energy they need to stay safe.

Mould, damp, and gaslighting has fired up an incredible campaign on Nags Head estate, really inspired by everyone involved. These small housing wins are critical for shifting towards a vision where we can all have healthy, safe, and affordable homes bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Good @hannahdev piece teasing apart different issues & perspectives below the surface of simplistic headline claims of 'overdiagnosis' of mental health problems Very few people with a serious stake in this debate suggesting benefit cuts will help anything theguardian.com/society/2025/a…

Politicians will tell us there's no money, but not everybody is struggling right now. The rich get richer off our backs while we are forced to sacrifice the most basic things we need to live. Poverty is a political choice and we must fight back.

Labour's cuts to sick and disabled people's benefits will save £5bn. A 2% wealth tax on those with assets of over £10mn would bring in £24bn. These cuts are both cruel and unnecessary.

I see this almost every day in my clinic. Children are getting breathing problems due to living in cold, damp housing. I have elderly patients telling me they can't afford to put the heating in. #HomesForHealth

NEW: 68% of UK health workers say high energy bills contribute to avoidable hospital admissions. Our research in partnership with Warm This Winter shows 45% have sent patients home knowing that their housing situation would make them ill again.

The net zero economy grew 10% last year📈 so it's now worth over £80bn GVA and supports nearly 1 million jobs would be madness to advocate against net zero when it means growth & energy security according to a NEW report with analysis by CBI Economics: eciu.net/media/press-re…
