A6: We recently hired a school therapist which I believe is extremely helpful. We also have an active peer mediation coordinator and students who assist. I would love to see more resources for our black and brown boys. #SELtech

A6: Schools and districts must meet the needs of our students It is a highly effective place to deliver services to them, but the reality is that our infrastructure was not built for it and we need the appropriate amount of staff and resources to address their needs. #SELtech

@MDraminski76 Yes! You are on point with how we did not have manage as many issues working from home and now we have spend time teaching about what is appropriate and not appropriate in class. We will get through this!!

#SELtech A5 Students did not not to interact with an online meet in the way that you would in a classroom. Taking turns, understanding others opinions, no longer having a camera you can turn off, or someone you can mute. Our Ss are struggling with how to behave in a classroom

@kg4281989 Yes and that takes up a lot of instructional time! Sometime we have to meet them where they are and try to use those online learning games to their advantage! #SELtech

A5: My Kindergarteners have little to no social or self-regulation skills since they have been home since they were 3. They would rather play games on technology than learn or read books. It is a lot of re-teaching and un-doing. #SELtech

Q6 What is a school/districts social responsibility to students various needs; I.E: IEP, 504, ELL, ED, Socioeconomic #SELtech

@Karonluvcreator I definitely need that (yoga and meditation)! Sometimes we do not take out the time for self-care! That is a great initiative, Karon!

A4: I have also offered meditation and yoga to the staff in my building during our professional developments. #SELtech

A4: Being open and honest with your students shows them that you trust them with your feelings and they can in turn share with you; and feel comfortable doing so <3 #SELtech

@MusicalNanci @Flipgrid The opportunity to focus on the perspectives of others and give responses to have asynchronous conversations is one of my favorite parts of #flipgrid! I hadn't thought of using it for peer feedback, but that sounds really productive! #SELtech

A3 - I love using @Flipgrid to allow them to submit their assignments. This gives them an opportunity to listen to themselves, critique themselves, and submit their best work. From there, they can critique to their peers. #SELtech #edchat #loyolaET #edtech #ET630

@misshussey3rd Yes, there are great websites for this! I remember my son completed an online activity on growth mindset. It allowed him to reflect and learn how to look at learning differently! #SELtech

A2: Growth mindset is important. I think many kid friendly learning websites do a good job of this by having it set up like a game this way students do not get discouraged when they have not yet mastered a skill. #SELtech

@Karonluvcreator @misshussey3rd @Mentimeter @padlet These are great resources!! Sometimes as educators, we are so focused on achieving teaching goals that we may forget about using these tech resources to check in and some students prefer to participate online than in person. #SELtech

@misshussey3rd A3: I use @Mentimeter and @padlet as daily check-ins to foster conversation. The check-ins can arrange from ask me anything questions to show a picture of how you’re feeling today. #SELtech
