We welcomed one of Marigold’s newest Board members to HQ today! It was a pleasure meeting Laura Chitwood for a Board Orientation and tour of our facility. Orientations like these help new Board members become familiar with Marigold’s operations, culture and services.

Bighorn Library Manager, Jennifer Smith, invited our team to help with inventory earlier this week, to support them in providing their patrons with an up-to-date collection. Inventory management ensures the collection remains organized and accessible to Bighorn Library patrons.

Our team grabbed their barcode scanners and headed to the Banff Public Library to help the staff with inventory by scanning items, cross-referencing materials, and inspecting the shelves for missing, misplaced or damaged items. Thank you Kelly Turpin for the photos!

Last week's Lake Louise Low Down Community Resources Info Fair provided an opportunity for our Digital Experience Consultant, Savannah Sillito, to spread awareness about all of Marigold's resources available to residents of Lake Louise and Improvement District 9.

The Village of Carbon Library's Acting Manager Kate-Lynn Pennington sat down with Marigold’s Library Consultant Kim Visser this week, to go over what’s been happening at the library and within their community.

We LOVE StoryWalks, and so do our member libraries!!! Marigold is offering four new StoryWalks from November 1 to February 28 on a four-week loan period. We will be promoting each StoryWalk through our Facebook stories this week, so keep your eyes peeled.

Banff Public Library Director Sarah McCormack showed off their award-winning Library of Things collection, when Marigold CEO Lynne Price and COO Laura Taylor stopped by for a visit last week. Banff patrons can browse hundreds of “things” through the Library of Things directory.

Library service in remote communities puts items for reading, learning, and recreation in the hands of more people! Alexandra Parkinson, Improvement District 9 Councillor and Marigold Board representative (Lake Louise and area), showed us the Book Exchange in Lake Louise village.

We may be approaching winter, but Marigold Consultants are already thinking ahead to spring! Scholastic rep Krisztina Riez visited Marigold yesterday to go over the spring catalogue and highlight the hottest new books that will be hitting member library shelves next season.

Marigold CEO Lynne Price and COO Laura Taylor visited the Canmore Public Library today where Audra Hiller, Assistant Librarian, had some fun showing off their popular collection of Juvenile Audiobooks! Lynne and Laura are on the road visiting the region’s Western libraries.

We got a chance to visit the future Airdrie Public Library on Friday, and were thrilled to see Judy Dufort - Airdrie Library Board member and former Marigold Library Board member! Many thanks to Director Deb Cryderman for inviting us to tour. We can’t wait to see it next year!

Today, Marigold is hosting the Municipal Affairs Public Library Services Branch (PLSB) bi-annual Indigenous Liaison Meeting at our headquarters in Strathmore. Attendees include representatives from libraries and communities across the province in addition to PLSB staff.

Marigold hosted the SAIT Library Information Technology (LIT) diploma students today! Marigold's Director of Service Delivery Kristine Den Boon shared some insight of the ins-and-outs of what we do, provided a tour of our facility, and let them try the Automated Sortation System.

DigitalLearn.org (a Public Library Association's site) is an online hub for digital literacy support and training. DigitalLearn includes a collection of self-directed tutorials for end-users to increase their digital literacy. Just visit marigold.ab.ca/eResources

Our SAIT practicum student Connor Robinson is in the final week of her three-week-long practicum! Connor spent some time learning about our direct services, shipping, receiving and processing new materials, acquisitions and cataloguing, and our kits and games. Welcome aboard!

Tony Onisko from United Library Services (ULS) stopped by for a meeting earlier today. Marigold has a long-standing relationship with ULS that allows us to buy in bulk, receive discounts, and ensure popular titles and bestsellers are distributed quickly to our member libraries!
