Parler plusieurs langues, c’est comme un code secret! Les frères Tomkins ont utilisé le cri pour coder des informations entre forces alliées. Pour la Journée nationale des langues autochtones, voici les «code talkers» cris de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale:

World Water Day is a reminder that water is life. Many Indigenous Nations and communities hold water as sacred and recognize their responsibilities as water protectors.
Throughout Canada, long-term drinking water advisories and environmental threats continue to disproportionately impact Indigenous communities.
Many Indigenous advocates, such as Autumn Peltier, are at the forefront of this crisis. World Water Day is an opportunity to reflect on our shared responsibility to protect water sources, support Indigenous-led environmental stewardship, and advocate for clean, safe water for all.

Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme of Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.
Indigenous women, both past and present, have long led movements that challenge injustice, protect lands and waters, and preserve cultures and knowledge. Their leadership spans generations, from advocating for environmental rights to defending human rights, education, and the well-being of future generations.
Indigenous women continue to lay the foundation for movements that continue to shape social justice around the world through resilience, advocacy and community.
This International Women’s Day, we honour these international changemakers and amplify their stories, because dismantling barriers for ALL women and girls requires recognition, solidarity, and action.

This year, we will mark the 10th anniversary of Secret Path, the album, graphic novel, and film that shared Chanie’s story with audiences throughout Canada and beyond. A decade later, Secret Path remains a powerful call to remember Chanie, confront the ongoing impact of residential schools, and take meaningful action toward reconciliation.
Finding the Secret Path tells the story of how Gord Downie brought Chanie's story to the national stage—featuring concert footage, reflections from the Wenjack and Downie families, Indigenous leaders and the musicians who worked on Secret Path.

Every February, Black History Month is observed in Canada and the United States as a time to recognize and honour the histories, contributions, and lived experiences of Black communities. In Canada, Black History Month was officially established in 1995, following the work and advocacy of Jean Augustine, the first Black woman elected to Parliament.
This month is an opportunity to celebrate the cultural, social, political, and economic contributions of Black people while also reflecting on the ongoing realities of anti-Black racism and systemic inequality. It invites deeper learning about both shared and distinct histories, including the experiences of Afro-Indigenous people, and highlights the importance of solidarity, intersectionality, and collective responsibility in the work toward justice and equity.

On January 19, 2026, Chanie Wenjack would have turned 72. His life, like thousands of other Indigenous children, was profoundly impacted by the residential school system.
Chanie was just 12 years old when he escaped Cecilia Jeffrey Residential School, trying to make his way home. His story continues to remind us of the harm caused by colonial policies and the responsibility we share to ensure this history is neither forgotten nor repeated.
In 2026, we also mark the 10th anniversary of Secret Path, the album, graphic novel, and film that shared Chanie’s story with audiences throughout Canada and beyond. A decade later, Secret Path remains a powerful call to remember Chanie, confront the ongoing impact of residential schools, and take meaningful action toward reconciliation.
Today, we invite you to reflect on Chanie’s story and take reconciliACTION:
