@MathTheBelgian Wait what is this map? Trump won Nevada in 2024 so all districts couldn't have voted for Harris

@NilesGApol They had some sort of disagreement over the voter roles (she was SOS before him) And then he pretty seriously considered challenging her for re-election this year.

Dominoes in order: Redistricting amendment passes, Wittman retires rather than lose handily, Democrats win the White House in 2028, Wittman runs for Governor and beats Don Scott in 2029 with Miyares also ousting Jones in the AG race.
Chris Kirkwood@bluearrowMaps

The proposed VA-08 stretches from Arlington down to Yorktown, and is one of the safer seats that Democrats drew. Harris would have won the district by 18 points in 2024, with most of that margin coming from NOVA #ElectionTwitter

@AlDefinitely This is insane especially considering that if current trends continue New Mexico should be shifting right in the future and you would think they'd want to build the bench out. Not to mention they want to make a play at nm which tends to switch parties every 8 years Incredible

@DrewSav Yeah America politicts was not something she knew and she super misread things. Her take on the banality of evil is brilliant and is precisely why the spread of hate is so scary, it doesn't need even most people to be hateful.

Reading up on Hannah Arendt, who coined the phrase "the banality of evil". She uh had some political views that's for sure.

Map showing where Spanberger did better than Tim Kaine in 2018. Yellow counties/cities will require final provisionals and mail to determine.

@blobulous64 @werlf48 @RyanZedek @KJVPopulist He got more unpopular at the end as incumbent govenors often do at the end of 8 years. Same deal with murphy though murphy did not get nearly as unpopular as Malloy. Idk what malloy was cooking but it was something special. That man was super unpopular

@KJVPopulist NJ and CT would be more similar if the margins were switched. Because both had 1 good year for dems with an unpopular incumbent and an open seat and one bad (ish) year for dems with a popular incumbent running again. The difference is the years dems did better is switched

@KJVPopulist Lamont only won by so little because the incumbent dem govenor, dan Malloy was SUPER unpopular like 15 percent approvel. Lamont won by more in 22 as a popular incumbent govenor even in a worse year

VA GOP geography has been worsening throughout the 2020s. This map even survived 2022. DEMs net 3 seats. Would be a game-changer in US House. DEM plan is apparently to hold a special election in the spring, which is an advantageous environment for them.

VA GA is in session starting Monday for a redistricting session to try and get Virginia on a path to the "Scott-mander" (named after Speaker Scott and Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell). If they are successful in their quest, they'd likely try and draw a 9-2 map, like so.
