@CoolBlued_ Flynn is on the lore team, and was one of the people who worked on what information would be portrayed in the cutscenes.
He also mentioned on his podcast that Origins retconned the "Sonic and Eggman met before Sonic 1" thing, so that's probably why he's in the thumbnail.
