🗣️ Zlatan Ibrahimović:
“I’m going to be honest here. Even as someone who loves Messi, this World Cup has looked like a tournament prepared for Argentina to win. When I watch other matches and then watch Argentina’s games, it makes me wonder whether the rules are different for Argentina’s players. They don’t play like a team that came to play football; they play as if it’s a karate competition. Yet despite all of that, the referees don’t give them cards.
I have seen so many challenges that deserved yellow or red cards, but the referees refused to show them. For Argentina’s second goal, Messi stepped on Spence, and VAR didn’t review it. Yet against Egypt, VAR disallowed Egypt’s goal for the exact same reason. The same thing has happened in other matches they have played.
I don’t think it’s fair to say this World Cup has been fair because everything points to the fact that they want Argentina to win so badly. It’s very shameful that FIFA has not looked into all of this.”

🚨 JUST IN 🚨
England have asked for an investigation into referee Ismail Elfath following their controversial 2-1 loss to Argentina. The referee refused to give early yellow cards for multiple late challenges on the England players, including what should have been a straight red card for Enzo Fernández after he elbowed Elliot Anderson in the back of the head. And as soon as any contact was made on Messi, a yellow card was produced.
The referee has officiated Messi multiple times before, in which Messi has a 100% record, and could be seen in conversation throughout the match. Argentina looked to wind up the England players, seemingly knowing that there would be no punishment and were allowed to get away with it. The refereeing completely suited the style of the Argentinians, and exactly why it has been speculated that FIFA have allowed this to ensure that Lionel Messi made it to the final due to his stature within the US after his move to Inter Miami."

🚨 Jude Bellingham on what he said to Lionel Messi during the game:
🗣️: “I went over to Messi and said, ‘I’ve been seeing all the complaints from other countries throughout the tournament… now I’m experiencing it first-hand.’
“Every 50/50 tackle went in their favor, their equalizer was an offside goal, Enzo Fernandes should have been sent off in the first half and it should be concerning to every one of us.
Congratulations to Argentina, now I believe everything the Egyptian players and coach said.”

🚨Thomas Tuchel on England’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina.
🗣️ “I have to say it because everyone watched the same match. The referee and VAR completely lost control of this game. In a World Cup semi-final, mistakes like these are unacceptable. You work four years for moments like this, and then crucial decisions are handled with unbelievable incompetence.”
“The challenge on Anderson? How is that not given? The offside decisions? The fouls ignored? VAR had every angle, every replay, every opportunity to correct obvious errors and they still failed. If technology cannot get the biggest decisions right on the biggest stage, then what exactly is it there for?”
“I don’t want excuses because England also made mistakes, but don’t ask me to stay silent when my players are denied fair decisions. We are told to respect referees, yet who takes responsibility when they get it completely wrong? Nobody. They apologise after the tournament while our dream is already over.”
“This is a World Cup semi-final, not a training match. The standards should be the highest in football, yet tonight they were nowhere near good enough. One bad decision can change history, and England were forced to play against both Argentina and a refereeing performance that simply wasn’t at the required level.”
“Argentina are a fantastic team and they punished our mistakes, but I refuse to pretend the officiating had no impact. It did. The referee and VAR created controversy from the first whistle until the last, and that should embarrass everyone responsible.”
“England leave with heartbreak. Not only because we failed to reach the final, but because every player will always wonder what might have happened if the biggest match of their lives had been officiated properly. That is impossible to accept.”

Jude Bellingham criticized Thomas Tuchel’s tactics and also taken a swipe at Argentina following England’s defeat.
“I really don’t know why the coach brought on so many defenders when we were already ahead. We could have won if he didn’t make those changes. Argentina didn’t do much before the substitutions; they were just making rough tackles and weren’t here to play football. Even Messi didn’t play well. I strongly believed we could have scored more,I mean why the hell would u remove Gordon who scored? I know people gonna hate me but this is the truth”.

🚨Zlatan Ibrahimović on England’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina.
🗣️ “I’m furious. Not because England lost, but because the game leaves too many questions behind.
In a World Cup semi-final, every major decision has to be absolutely correct. England felt several moments went against them, and you could see that frustration growing throughout the match.
The challenge on Anderson, the offside discussions, the fouls that weren’t punished—those are the moments players remember. When the stakes are this high, consistency from the officials is everything.
But let me be clear: England also have to look at themselves. You cannot leave a game this big with regrets about both your performance and the decisions around it.
Argentina took their chances. England didn’t take enough of theirs. That is the painful truth.
Still, I understand why England’s players and supporters feel angry tonight. A World Cup semi-final should be decided by football, and nobody wants to walk away talking more about officiating than the game itself.”
