Excited to share a new paper from the cPen Network: "From Labor to Attention: A Token-Economic Framework for the AI Era" As AI automates more and more work, traditional jobs are becoming less reliable as a source of income and stability. At the same time, the explosion of AI and automation is making genuine human attention one of the scarcest and most valuable resources in the digital economy. As AI and automation continue to weaken traditional job-based income, the paper argues that an attention-centered economy may gradually emerge as a complementary layer, giving ordinary people a new way to participate and earn in the digital world, alongside their existing work. We believe this shift creates a major opportunity for fairer systems. The paper introduces ATEM, the Attention-Token Economic Model, a practical framework for rewarding verified human attention with real economic value.
