#Illini head coach Brad Underwood shouts out his hometown: McPherson, Kansas - in the Elite 8 preview press conference. "An unbelievable little basketball community in Kansas." Here's Coach on his long journey to getting to this point, saying he always worked for winners. "It's been maybe a different path than most, but there's not one step of that I would give up." I called p-x-p for the Class 2A State title game in his senior year with Hoxie. He has dramatically improved beyond expectations. Tip of the cap to him.

This guy was Darren Sproles decades before @DarrenSproles and also a product of K-State. I believe he played under Coach Vince Gibson. Am I right?

Heaven Birthday, Mini-Mack Herron🕯️ The #Patriots' diminutive halfback and return man In the two-year period of 1973-74, the 5'5", 170-pound dynamo had the most all-purpose yards in the NFL. In 1974, the explosive Herron broke Gale Sayers' single-season #NFL record by amassing 2,444 all-purpose yards. #NEPats

Friday was the culmination six weeks of events that included graduations, state track weekend, pro softball and tennis and ending with boxing. Over 130,000 people visited our campus, love the wide array of events we put on that brings in such a diverse demographic to our campus.

It's the seventh birthday for my second book, Stories I Tell On Dates, and here's what I know: 1. It's better than most books. 2. It's worse than some. 3. I'm sure there are things I would write differently now. 4. That's also sort of the point OF the book -- that the stories we tell change based on the circumstances in which we're telling them. 5. A year ago I went on a date with the person who's on the other side of the wine bottle on SITOD's cover and, for a brief moment in time, thought we might end up married. 6. We did not, but I got a story out of it. Which is fitting. 7. Here's the book, should you want a bit of fall reading: amazon.com/Stories-Tell-D…

Good to see Kansas Shrine Bowl @KSShrineBowl ambassador Eli Petersen today at Kapaun Mount Carmel for Think Before You Post. Eli, a sophomore at KMC, was born with a congenital hand difference. He’s missing his middle and index fingers on both hands. Eli was served at Shriners Children’s St. Louis as a baby and has learned to adapt – even on the baseball field. Today he plays baseball for Kapaun Mount Carmel, a high school in Wichita. He plays second base, outfield and pitches. Most importantly is Eli’s superior work ethic and attitude. He doesn’t let it slow him down. Eli has been involved with the Shriners Hospitals since 2010. Not only is Eli a great kid that always is ready to have a conversation with you every time we see him, he’s an inspiration to so many. Eli has been inspiring 100s of football players over the years at the Kansas Shrine Bowl who have heard his story as a featured speaker and ambassador of the KSB. Good luck this school year, Eli and thanks for inspiring us! #sportsinkansas

September 20, 1982 ABC's Monday Night Football broadcast/NFL Films merge The #Packers defeat the #Giants on MNF at the Meadowlands, 27-19, immediately after which begins the 57-day NFLPA players' strike — the first regular season strike in #NFL history. The game is delayed twice by stadium power outages in the second quarter. During the outage — in the way that only he could — ABC's Dandy Don Meredith proclaims, "Now's the perfect time to run a quarterback sneak." Included is Meredith hilariously singing his version of "The Night the Lights Went Out in Jersey" and his old classic refrain, "Turn Out the Lights, the Party's Over" in which he hopes the season isn't over due to the looming strike. Packers radio call included on the John Facenda-narrated highlights.
