Tesla has launched a new Model 3 lineup in Canada, introducing the Model 3 Premium RWD starting at $39,490 CAD (that converts to just $29,000 USD!). Tesla has also cut the Model 3 Performance price by 17% to $74,990 CAD (from $89,990). The Model 3 Premium RWD trim is about 50% cheaper than the previously lowest-priced Model 3 Long Range ($79,990 CAD) in Canada, which has just been discontinued. The price to get into a Tesla just got a lot more affordable in Canada!

@AndrewStoeten No matter what the record is, an absolutely insane thing to do one month into a season.

I fear we may be overrating Eloy quite a bit. It’s really hard to justify him sticking around once George and Barger return.

@AndrewStoeten @GarethCanada @_bkuh_ He was barely playing when everyone was healthy. Straw is your 1st defensive replacement off the bench. Not pulling Varsho. You pulling Barger or Sanchez for Lukes with a righty pitching? Lukes for Schneider against a lefty? How much does that matter?

@MarkFabbroni @GarethCanada @_bkuh_ The good late inning defensive replacement guy who has no platoon split and will battle an at-bat until he puts it in play has no path to playing time here? Man, listen to yourself.

@GarethCanada @AndrewStoeten @_bkuh_ They can. Because Schneider, Barger, Clement, and Gimenez are so versatile, you can pull it off. Also, in a pinch, you can throw Springer or Eloy in a corner if you have to. Lukes has no path to playing time when Springer and Barger are back anyway.

@GarethCanada @AndrewStoeten @_bkuh_ I think Lukes is the most redundant piece for all the reasons mentioned. Defence is great, but they can’t keep losing 2-1. At some point, you need some guys that hit HRs on the roster. Now Eloy may not be that anymore, but find out if you can.

Straw is excellent. I don't think there is a better defensive outfield alignment than Straw, Varsho, and Lukes. Lukes was an above average player last year, Eloy has not been one for several years. Maybe he'd hit 40 bombs if given the chance but I think Lukes is a better fit on the roster once Springer is back.

@AndrewStoeten @_bkuh_ Why do you love your 4th-best, and oldest, LHH OF so much? Especially when this team is in desperate need of a RHH bench power bat.

@_bkuh_ @AndrewStoeten I think the Jays disagree, but that’s fair. They had lots of guys to call up. I think they view him as a project, and if they do, I think it’s worth playing out. Otherwise, why sign him at all?

@MarkFabbroni @AndrewStoeten I understand this perspective, but I believe this makes the roster worse. And I don't really think he's a project? He's simply *a guy* who was in the minors who got called up during a time of need. He's a famous name, but otherwise, a pretty normal sequence of events.

@MarkFabbroni @_bkuh_ I don't think "Compare him to a guy who was playing with vertigo" is the winning argument you think it is. Especially since we can now add that he was still able to be a functioning outfielder while he was, and that since the middle of last week his wRC+ has jumped 99 points.

@AndrewStoeten @_bkuh_ I wouldn’t give up on the Eloy Project after 21 PA to save an option on a 31 year old w/ a career wRC+ of 102 just to have superior LF defence for 10-12 innings a week. I’d option Lukes, keep both, and give it more time.

@MarkFabbroni @AndrewStoeten How far back are we going for "far better track record"? Davis has been an above avg hitter (within his role) over the last year, while providing defensive ability at 2B and LF. And he's a much better base runner. There's a reason Eloy was free to whoever wanted him!

@_bkuh_ @AndrewStoeten What have Lukes or Schneider done to deserve not being sent down? Eloy’s track record is far better. And a LF platoon of Eloy/Jesus/Schneider brings much more thump that team needs. Lukes’ skillset is redundant with Straw and Barger on the roster.

@MarkFabbroni @AndrewStoeten what has he done to deserve that kind of runway, though? He's a slow DH, the level to which he has to hit to be valuable to a team who already has an everyday DH is what, his 90th percentile outcome?

@AndrewStoeten @_bkuh_ I feel like it’s harder to justify losing Eloy for nothing before giving him more run way, just to save a Davis Schneider or Nathan Lukes option.

@_bkuh_ I think that's for the same reasons he won't likely have a lot of teams queuing up to put in a waiver claim. Might end up in his hands as to whether or not to accept being outrighted, and maybe he likes the org and the potential for opportunity/winning enough to say yes?

@mike_petriello @AndrewStoeten We’re overdue for Vladdy to step up. OBP and K% be damned, he needs to take some bigger swings to steal some games.

The Blue Jays offense has been really poor (6th-fewest runs scored), but they're still making a ton of contact (lowest K% in baseball). Their hard-hit rate is 25th. That's the problem. And it's a good reminder they didn't small-ball their way to the WS last year. They mashed.

First base is open so you choose to pitch to Vladdy, but you intentionally walk Jesus Sanchez? What’s the logic there?
