It only reached #73 on the US Billboard Hot 100. ‘I Don't Like Mondays’ was written about the Cleveland Elementary School sh00ting in San Diego in 1979. A 16 year old girl, Brenda Spencer, who lived across the street from the school, fired from her bedroom window at the school playground, k!lling the principal, custodian and injuring a police officer and 8 children. Her explanation for her actions was "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day." She is still currently in prison. At 18, he trained as a boxer, won the Florida Golden Gloves lightweight championship and was made an offer to attend boxing school.
