Rapid catch-up growth in infancy seems to be associated with worse long term metabolic outcomes, so perhaps getting these babies to grow well while still in NICU (likely similar to in-utero growth), avoiding need for catch-up later, may mean they carry less risk.

How would we set a target centile/velocity? @NeoResearch_Net, does your 2016 paper show that early life is a window for rapid weight catch-up without adverse metabolic outcome (reducing later detrimental weight gain)?

There has been some truly excellent research presented at #EAPS2022 but one of the highlights for me has been the results of the MILK trial, presented by @TarahColaizy. This trial compared donor milk with bovine fortifier with preterm formula in extremely preterm babies
