For projects I want to document I have to start remembering to take pictures before I glue things together. 🙃

My lightning detector board works! Finally a large thunderstorm passed close enough to verify the reading were not just false positives. Wrote the readings to @Adafruit IO every 5 minutes. Now to build an enclosure and refine the code. #circuitpython

@montaelkins Seems to work all right now that I understand how the AS3935 chip works better. No thunderstorms for a real life test yet (plenty right before I finished it of course).

What started with my needing a new CPU fan resulted in a new case with aRGB fans. My motherboard didn’t support aRGB so rather then buy a controller for $20 I spent $100 making my own! nRF52840 for BLE with level shifting logic running #circuitpython

@bsombsom @adafruit This is an actual GIF file. I have not tried playing from a SD card directly but I think it should work. Depending on sizing the microcontroller may have space for it as well.

@MarkKomus @adafruit Was this using an actual GIF file or a GIF file converted to a header file? I've been on the hunt for a way to play GIF files from an SD card without any conversion using a microcontroller.

Took the still in progress #circuitpython DVI support and experimented getting an animated GIF to run in my second monitor with the @Adafruit RP2040 DVI feather. This is ugly under the hood but was able to get it going.

@kevsmac I think it's valuable for people to realize many creators still work regular jobs. As much as many dream to do that as their only job it just isn't always possible.

@AmateurCod3r When the SHT40 detects relative humidity going up it changes the image to one of the candle being blown out. The top button resets it all. If you have any questions ask! (It would be a neat all in one board too)

@MarkKomus Very cool, I am super interested in interactive/fun tech like this for kids! Could maybe even fit it into a thicker than usual card. Are you changing images once the SHT40 sensor detects air? I'm going to take some time to dive into your project on github!

In the past I made a servo controlled “fan” and used a water pump to put out candles. This year for my birthday I made a virtual candle that plays happy birthday and detects when you blow it out. #CircuitPython
