@J0hnADouglas @kevinbolk It's 100% down to Travis Knight. His stop motion animation chops means he takes care to choreograph a scene properly. Same for when he directed Bumblebee; the visual noise difference betwen that and Bayformers was better by an order of magnitude.

A lesser-mentioned merit of this movie is how clear, well-choreographed and superbly shot the action sequences were. I’ve gotten so burned out by shaky, blurry, or overblown VFX-heavy “live-action anime” fight scenes that I just tune most of them out. Totally NOT the case here.

Masters of the Universe is a hell of a lot of fun. Other than Teela being reduced to a selfish bitch, I don't have a lot of complaints. End credits scene has me wanting more.

@VeeEmYou The OG toyline was always Masters of the Universe. Only the cartoon front loaded 'He-Man' in the title. Mattel wanted to sell more than one toy!

Is this a case of a good movie bombing because it was an IP for 55 year olds marketed to 20 year olds and refusing to call it "He-Man"?

@jay_sahm @DiscussingFilm In the movie it would be a retcon. He only came back later on tv because the attempt at trying to move the toyline on didn't pay off, kids liked the original G1 lineup too much.

@Sksj002 I think everyone's idea of The Thing and The Hulk being comparable comes from the inconsistent sizes they were in the Fox Marvel animated shows: youtu.be/WxuSEksDaAA?is… Millennials mostly know the characters from those shows rather than the comics.

Fact- If Hollywood hadn't been trashing fan franchises for a decade, Masters of the Universe would of faired better at the box office.

Jeremy Clarkson made £144 farming a thousand acres in his first year. In year six he lost five thousand. His own words to his land agent: dispiriting enough to clear a hundred and forty-four quid at the start, and here we are six years on, down five grand. The harvest had been projected at thirty-seven thousand profit. Weather and prices took it. Now look at what that thousand acres has behind it that yours does not. One of the best land agents in the country. A farm manager who has worked that ground since he was a teenager. A farm shop with a queue down the lane, a pub, bestselling books, more than a quarter of a million in subsidy across three years, and a television production paying for the entire thing to be filmed. It is the most commercially advantaged thousand acres in Britain, and the farming still loses money. That figure should end every conversation about British agriculture, and it is the one number that never makes it onto a campaign graphic. Not the glyphosate. Not the pig housing. The margin. This reminds me I still need to do a fan cut of the OG movie. Perfection is in there, and Scott manage to move AWAY from that perfection with his 'final cut'
