This is the single biggest failing of AU Gundam imo. The only one that really puts any real effort into mook suit design is the SEED series. Wing is one of the absolute worst about this. In 00 however it is somewhat justified, but still not enough is done.

One of the things I’ve enjoyed in Mobile Suit Gundam and especially Zeta is the diversity of Mobile Suits. I had assumed that eventually it would all just be Gundam, and the other suits would be phased out as outdated. But they’ve persisted and you get so many cool designs.
