Humanity thinks Sparda defeated Mundus 2000 years , and Dante during DMC1 defeated Mundus
But both of them can't even kill Mundus and what they did was sealing him. He's still alive currently in between Human and Demon World sealed by Dante

Well no! If you're talking about live action projects, DMC is way too fantasy to be made into live action and not look goofy (same as Berserk or Final Fantasy)
