@anon_opin Maybe we could have some sort of transition period to low carbon houses, make it stepped changes implemented over a number of years to ease the technology/market in - maybe call it the code for sustainable homes or something?

Why are all these horrible new build estates not required by law to have all the houses fitted with solar panels and heat pumps as standard? Seems a pretty easy and basic 'green' option if the government was serious about tackling climate change etc.
