VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED — Three young men, who were residing at Ahwiaa, were beaten to death by a mob at Dumanafo in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region after being accused of theft. According to details obtained exclusively by ASK, residents acted after a woman claimed she saw the suspects in an auto-rickshaw (Pragya) behaving suspiciously in the area. The trio insisted they were only visiting a friend and were escorted to the house, but the occupant denied knowing them, allegedly because he feared he would be lynched if he confirmed that he did. This triggered a brutal assault that ended their lives before the police arrived. One victim’s mother fainted upon hearing of her son’s death and was rushed to hospital, while one of the victims’ fathers, who is abroad, has been heartbroken following the death of his son. Police have since launched a full investigation into the lynching to ascertain whether the men were indeed criminals or victims of mob justice.
