If I could live the rest of my life like I can during the 96 hours between the Round of 64 and the Sweet Sixteen I wouldn’t complain about anything ever again.
Baseball is meant to be watched in person
Football is meant to be watched on your couch
College Basketball is meant to be watched during the day at your cubicle
I’m not the first to say it, but it rings true. No one gives a shit about mediocre P5 teams. The soul of college basketball is the little guy getting shot at the true powers.
Fewer (ideally zero) teams that go under .500 in their leagues. That’s what literally everyone wants
Christmas morning only feels like Christmas morning during our childhoods
The 1st day of March Madness will NEVER stop feeling like Christmas morning
Let’s have a day.
Something been bothering me recently. All these accounts saying NBA NFL MLB will always be behind the Golden Knights in popularity. The VGK made their start in a dark spot in our cities history. The way they handled it made some new hockey fans for life. But Vegas is a different town. Those of us who have lived here for a long time know. If you win you will draw the fans. I can guarantee if the Raiders make the playoffs it will be very hard for people outside of Vegas to get seats. Las Vegas ALWAYS supports a winner. The Aces are proof. If the Knights had losing seasons like most expansion teams do there would be empty seats there as well. Why do I bring this up? The A’s know this. They are making sure when that park opens they have a winner out the gate. If the 2028 team makes a deep playoff run it will only fuel the love the city will have for them. The more they win the more local fans will flock to the park. With Mendoza coming soon to the Raiders, I have no doubt Las Vegas will be the sports capital of the world and our loyal intelligent fans will be recognized for our passion and not just for the VGK.
@BFW@Blutman27 Don’t know any Vegas local who was moved whatsoever by the Raiders coming to town.
Meanwhile every person in the goddamn city owns Knights memorabilia.
I need examples of a US city with at least three pro sports teams where the NHL team is top two in fandom in the city.
Boys here said Detroit, DC and Tampa. I think I’ll give them DC and Tampa, but contest Detroit.
Some guys said Minnesota, I think Twins are bigger than Wild.
March Madness Rounds 1 and 2 is the greatest 4 day weekend of the year. I take PTO every year and will continue to until I die. Basketball on from 11 AM to 11 PM for 4 days. Absolute heaven
