Please describe your turns 1-3 play or draw that cannot win before getting buried in cards by turn 1 pawp->turn 2 ramp->turn 3 Hirem. I'm just curious what decks people are playing that are losing to this in 2026

@DaveS_Lorcana @TarisBlvck @BradenMTG I’m with you on this one, I’m surprised they gave out stuff last year tbh and that people are so pissed about it now 😡 invite only standard practice in my experience for high level lcq 🤷‍♂️ I’ve got no dog in this fight tho so rage on everybody

@TarisBlvck @BradenMTG There's two things: 1. The issue of LCQs being a worse than they were the year before. This is bad and I hope RB course corrects here. 2. Community sentiment that LCQs should be value propositions. Maybe I'm a boomer, but i think it's fair for these to be "win or get out"

Im not going to defend the LCQ downgrade. BUT it's not supposed to be good. It's a Hail Mary that goes unanswered for the majority of players. It's design is to send most people to the parks. Could/should it be better? IDK but I thought S1 LCQs were generous.

Control players aren't afraid that they can't build a deck to beat aggro. They're afraid that they can't continue pretending it's not real. Being forced to play cards that are bad in the mirror is scarier than Grandmother Willow.

New set gives UR some cool tools, going to take my first crack at a list tonight on my annual stream about 7pm central. Twitch.tv/smarkeson I have been playing lorwyn so I haven’t seen what anyone else is doing. Don’t ruin it for me if it’s already figured it out 😡#lorcana

Plenty of good cards in the new set, doesn’t look like there is anything crazy tho. Suppose I like these at first glance 🤷‍♂️

This what I play at the dlc went 11-2-1 losing to dogs and blurp. Played vs 4x dogs 1x rp 1x ug 2x Psteel 5x blurple #lorcana

@Th3_Legacy Against blurp they usually put stuff in your ink so I just plan on hardcasting Phil. Against ps otd if you have Phil rolled up you can heihei t4 to beat their demona before they shift. Against UG I keep louis otp, you can sometimes tag a small cow Dogs flynn into cat/louis

@Th3_Legacy You’ll almost never win without the big cards (except against dogs) so you need to plan a few turns in advance. Early to mid game should just be about keeping parity until you can leverage a cow/phil.

@MarkesonScott Besides the Iago HeiHei changes, would you make any other changes? I’m thinking of sleeving this up for my last set Champs

@LegendGary_TCG Yep, it’s not the end of the world either if you don’t play something on either 1 and/or 2 in certain matchups. In the dark you need to mulligan/keep merged hands where games 2/3 you should know what to prioritize.

@MarkesonScott Makes sense! With so few two drops (and no webby), is your game plan to just boost Flynn on two most of the time?

@LegendGary_TCG Probably not, deck doesn’t attack much and when it does it’s using cat to move damage after. The dumbo is fine, if you know what your expected meta is going to be I’d make it something more pointed. If not you could just keep that thing in there.

@MarkesonScott Great run, sir! Would you consider Ward Scar over Dumbo?

@r3dhg I’d probably play one iago and 3 hei hei. The dumbo could stay or go, never done much for me even in testing. It’s just a decent card and acts as a lightning rod sometimes.

@MarkesonScott thanks for the list! any post-mortem changes you'd make? Or are you keeping that under wraps for any events youve got planned before end of set?
