@BetrayedButcher David rubs his back gently. "I'm sorry." He whispers.

@MarklsGone Simon wouldn’t respond, he started to tear up and his head slowly lowered onto David’s chest. Faint whimpering can be heard.

@BetrayedButcher David shakes his head. "Don't. Don't forgive me. I didn't have to send you back down at all. We could've let you out when you first came up. But we took advantage of you. 𝘐 took advantage. And then you suffered terribly. And it's my fault you went through unimaginable horrors."

@BetrayedButcher David hugs him back gently. "I was almost your executioner. I don't feel good about that. I can't erase the experience I put you through, but I can do my best to ease it."

@BetrayedButcher "I'm not going to make you. Your body will. You'd be flooding it with so much fluid at once that it will trigger the gag reflex. So drink slowly if you want to keep it all down." David sits at the end of the bed.

@MarklsGone ❝ W-why would I have to vomit again if I drink too much water?❝⠀ ⠀ Simon would say as he started to drink some water.

@BetrayedButcher David takes the bucket with a grimace. "You almost kept all this shit inside of you because it was 'just blood'. You should drink some water first. Don't drink it too fast. We have more, but if you drink too fast you're just going to vomit it up again. Okay?"

@MarklsGone Simon finished throwing up, most of the bucket full of blood and random meaty stuff, the stuff seen inside the iron lung when the blood was leaking in. Veins and all. He was just sitting on the medical bed while whimper before looking up at David. ⠀ ⠀ ❝ T-thank you.❝

@BetrayedButcher David pats his back gently. "I'm going to go get you some food and a lot of water, you keep going..." David leaves the room and comes back a few moments later with a plate of easily digestible food, some medicine, and a jug filled with water.

@MarklsGone ❝ Ah- fair enough…❝⠀ ⠀ Simon would say still throwing up blood, throwing up so much it just makes him feel weaker and holy hell like half the bucket was full.

@BetrayedButcher "It's not 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 blood. It's the ocean's. Your hand was grabbed with blood-like veins, right? And the blood had been leaking into the sub. Do you think it's good for the blood that can do 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 to be inside of you?"

@MarklsGone ❝ I uhh why? What’s wrong it’s just blood..❝⠀ ⠀ Simon would say as he started forcing himself to throw up blood.

@BetrayedButcher "Shit." He grabs a bucket and walks over to Simon. "I need you to force yourself to throw up. You need as much of that blood out of you as possible. I'll bring you food and water after, but right now, you need that shit 𝘰𝘶𝘵."

@MarklsGone ❝ Uhm, yeah.❝

@BetrayedButcher "You swallowed some of it?"

@MarklsGone ❝ I mean… I guess that’s true… Fuck my stomach is hurting again… I don’t think me accidentally swallowing some of that blood down there was a good idea.❝

@BetrayedButcher "Worse, then? I didn't know if it being windowless would make you feel like you were in the submarine again... At least with windows you can see that you're not down there anymore..."

@BetrayedButcher "I meant: would it be better to see the surface of the ocean or worse?"

@MarklsGone ❝ I really don’t know, being able to see space is nice but then I remembered it’s just a blank void out there.❝

@BetrayedButcher "Yeah and the coughing up blood is part of why you're staying in the med bay for a while... Would windows make it better or worse?"

@MarklsGone ❝ I guess that makes sense… fuck seeing blood literally traumatizes me and unfortunately I’m throwing up Blood every 20 minutes. ❝

@BetrayedButcher "We don't have an effective way to dispose of it. We also have no idea how it would react to whatever we do. It could end up significantly worse. We might want more samples so we can't just get rid of it... The best we can do is make sure we know where the contained threat is."

@MarklsGone ❝ Weld it shut again? Why not just destroy it?❝

@BetrayedButcher David takes a deep breath and comes to a conclusion. "We need to take our samples and grab the black box and then weld that sub shut again..."

@BetrayedButcher "How soon did the vines start growing around your hand?"

@BetrayedButcher "Analysis. Flesh isn't supposed to tear like that. Especially not with human force alone. It takes thousands of pounds of force and is really only plausible with machines. But you 𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧𝘧. So something must have happened to it to allow that..."
