@MarkovicNeb In 2006, I remember starting a job as a sports photographer for the newspaper "El Gráfico," and when I went to take pictures of the Aguila coach, I met Vladan for the first time. We all called him "professor or teacher".

@MarkovicNeb @JoanJDM Yes. Memories.🙏🏼 Still makes me laugh that they gave him the nickname "El Bicho" which is basically "The Kid". Given his height & style of play his nickname should have been: "La Torre" = The Tower" "La Grúa" = "The Crane" "El Muro" = "The Wall" Excellent article. 👏🏼

@MarkovicNeb @JoanJDM You were probably thinking of San José since you were ✍🏼 about the 🇨🇷 game. Growing up playing ⚽ with many from the former Yugoslavia, this brings back memories of watching 🇸🇻 games with my father. Miss him daily. Next time I see my Yugoslav buddies I'll have some rakija.😎

@CEtchingham77 Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, there is so much that could be said, you could write a book even. But even some less important things bring back the memories - like his collar turned up, or the run-up for his free kicks.

Mihajlović was a hugely complicated character for good and for bad. He was however absolutely fascinating, I gave him a chapter of his own in my book but you should definitely read this article as it captures the man really well ⬇️⬇️⬇️
