American author Mark Twain was born on this day in 1835. This Chemung Valley Historical Museum exhibit is located minutes away from his study, Quarry Farm, overlooking the river. It’s where he wrote his most famous books, including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. #upstatenewyork

This day in history! On Dec. 6, 1961, Ernie Davis became the first African American to win the Heisman Trophy. He attended Elmira Free Academy (now named Ernie Davis Academy) in Elmira, NY where he earned two All-American honors. Ernie's legacy lives on in Elmira. #GoExpress
