Attending #DRILLS (nomen est omen) this weekend in Delhi, India: over 1000 yound Indian hepatologist being trained through a purely case-based program. Really thrilled by the level of expertise and the cases, some of which would never make it into differential diagnosis in EU!

This paper will be transformational: 25% of patients with presumed NAFLD were drinking ALCOHOL excessively. Some patients admitted it, but many others underreported it.

@rabataller Completely agree, Ramon. This seems to be the biggest problem to avoid if we would be seriously considering to rename NAFLD: significant alcohol- consumption, the most important cause of chronic liver disease in Europe, has to be ruled out in metabolic liver disease.

There is some confusion about the terms "NAFLD" and "MAFLD". For some authors, all patients with alcohol-related liver disease belong to MALFD. This should be avoided. See this example of the ongoing confusion:
