UNC has “contended” for 3 national championships since Duke last “contended” for one 11 year ago.
So the “state” of UNC, while more up and down, has produced more consistent national championship contention than Duke.

Media literacy in Chapel Hill is at an all time low. We both “care” about one another. It’s our rivalry. However, the state of UNC has led one to care about being a natty contender and the other to enjoy moral victories of beating Duke. The level of care is not equitable.

UNC has played in 3 National Championships and won 1 since Duke last won in 2015 but UNC is the one not relevant?

Wrote this in October and it’s especially applicable now: UNC in men’s basketball is stuck between its storied past and the realities of the present. The so-called “Carolina Way” doesn’t fit what’s required to compete at the highest level. ⬇️⬇️
