I’ve personally spoken to several pilots over the last 12 years and asked them how often they have to dip the nose of the plane to accommodate curvature as they navigate the globe earth. They’ve all given me the same answer: the nose of the plane never dips. I also asked them what kind of surface they’re flying over - do they see any curvature as they fly or is it just a flat surface? They’ve all said the same: it’s flat.

Delhi to London. Night flight. Homebound. Mission butter chicken: complete. Now the rhythm shifts, from movement to stillness. From long-haul focus to something far simpler: time off, friends, and a certain dog who will expect far more walks than I’m probably ready for. But first, one more crossing of a route that has been bringing people home for nearly a century. In the 1930s, this journey wasn’t a night flight. It was an expedition. Imperial Airways crews edged west in stages, Karachi, Basra, Cairo, across Europe linking the far reaches of the Empire one sector at a time. Flying boats and early airliners, navigating by map, star, and instinct. What we now do overnight once took days, sometimes weeks. Tonight, it’s a single, quiet arc through the darkness. Same geography. Same distance. Just a very different machine. There’s something fitting about flying it homeward. These routes were never just about travel, they were about connection. Between places, people, and lives lived far apart. And now, for me at least, they end where they should. Home. Friends. And a long overdue walk with Millie. #PilotLife #A350 #Homebound #LongHaul #AvGeek #AviationHistory #ImperialAirways #FlightDeckView #AboveTheClouds #LayoverLife #AirlineLife

Tory peer Ruth Davidson reads a quote from Robert Jenrick: “I like Nigel. I think he’s a good bloke to go to the pub with but I’m not so sure I want him running my kids school or looking after our hospital” Robert Jenrick takes a gulp that can be seen from out of space #Peston

I’ve arrived in Whitechapel. There are clues in the tube station that I’m in this Islamic stronghold.

Lovely to see the Riviera course again. Superb test and one of the best events on the PGA Tour. Many happy memories at a place with interesting history. Hopefully the rain will head out to the Pacific, and stay there.

I've been really struggling with my sleep for a while now. I'd love to be one of those people that can just shut his eyes and wake up in 7 to 8 hours time, fully refreshed. Has anyone overcome this problem? And if so, tell me how to do it, cause it's really getting me down. 🤦‍♂️

And now I’m here in one of my favourite places. Ain’t nothin’ but the blues bar in central London. I’ve been coming here for about sixteen years and every single time it makes me happy.

Shall we draw a line under it. I am going to do an article for the Telegraph. Had refused all requests but after the wrong mother 'attacked' me in the Mail, just have to put the record straight.

🚨🇪🇺⛳️ #NEW — LIV Golf’s Ian Poulter reveals that he wants to be involved with the European Ryder Cup Team in some capacity. “I’d obviously still love to have some involvement in the Ryder Cup in some way, shape, or form…” “From a perspective of wanting to have a helping hand in something I’ve been quite a big part of over the last two decades, yeah, it would be a dream come true if we could be in that position. “It’s worked that way for Jon and Tyrrell and they’ve still accepted those guys in with the Ryder Cup and, hopefully, that relationship can continue.” ➡️ Would you like to see Poulter be a captain? @WestwoodLee Britain's bitterest golfer . I would love to sit down with Westwood and debate the LIV project but he would never be brave enough as I genuinely believe he could not back up his attitude to other tours .

Tools gone. Insurance on the phone asking for receipts from 2017. Hold music playing like I’ve got time for that. This is why I use @Kynekt_id All my tools logged in one place — all the details, photos to back it up, serial numbers, receipts, all the proof. So when the van gets done over or site gets hit, I’m not running around like a headless chicken. Couple of clicks, report it stolen, alerts go out to local trades, PDF gets sent straight to insurance or the police or whoever you need. Simple. Clear. Proper. It’s still demoralising when it happens — but at least now you’ve got control, options, and a fighting chance. And the more of us using it, the harder it gets for the black market to shift nicked tools. Protect your graft. Get organised. Get involved. BOSH. 👊🔧

If I’m honest, I probably shouldn’t have swapped the salad for chips to go with my jacket potato for breakfast. Sat here in a cafe in Roman Road, Bow, East London, watching the world go by past the window. Incredibly, I last saw a woman walk past who wasn’t wearing a full veil.
